Amazon Fresh: what it is and how the online supermarket works, now also in Italy
Amazon Fresh has also arrived in Italy. Since 26 January, in some areas of our country it is possible to shop online and receive it after a few hours at home.
Amazon Fresh is a real one online supermarket where you can buy fruit and vegetables, fresh or frozen, meat, fish, but also wine and products for the home and for the person, and receive them comfortably at your doorstep.
After the success achieved in the United States, the Amazon supermarket is also active in Italy, for now only in Milano, but soon the service will also be available at Roma and in the main other Italian cities.
How Amazon Fresh works
Amazon Fresh works simple, just like the rest of the ecommerce platform. You have to select the desired products from a menu, divided into product categories, such as fruit, vegetables and salads, dairy products, cured meats and cheeses, etc…
Once the products have been added to the cart, proceed to check out the order by selecting a two hour window for delivery, considering that the service is active from 8 in the morning to midnight.
What can you buy on Amazon Fresh
On Amazon Fresh you can buy everything you find in a traditional supermarket. By connecting to the place you will see the products divided into product categories, as in the photo below.
Just click on one of the menu items to access the products, select the desired quantity and add them to the cart.
In addition to the product categories listed, there are also some in the menu special sections dedicated to:
- Products Biological
- Special Diets: lactose free, gluten free, vegetarian and vegan
- Startups: Italian excellence sold by small local producers
- Amazon brands: Products marketed directly under the Amazon brand
- Amazon devices: such as tablet, E-reader, Amazon Echo.
Also on Amazon Fresh, as in the supermarket, you will find a selection of discount items. All you need to do is access the section from the menu Offers to have over 600 products discounted up to 25%.
Amazon Fresh: costs and delivery times
As mentioned, Amazon Fresh is a service active from 8 in the morning to midnight, it is reserved exclusively for Amazon Prime customers and provides a minimum order of 15€ of expenditure.
I delivery costs are free for orders over €50 and amount to €3,49 for smaller orders.
In addition to standard delivery in two-hour slots, there is also one fast delivery in one hour slots, in this case the delivery costs are €4,99 for orders over €50 and €7,99 for orders under €50.
Where Amazon Fresh is active
Currently the service is active only in Milan and in some municipalities in the Milanese hinterland, such as Rho, Opera and Cologno Monzese. However, the e-commerce giant's expansion plans are very ambitious and the extension of the service is also expected within the year in Rome and in the other main Italian cities.
Shopping online and receiving it at home after a few hours will therefore no longer be an advantage for only a few, but will become a reality for millions of Italians and we are sure that with the times we are living in, the service will be very successful.
